Artist books, Zines, and Sketchbooks
Zines
RMG has been writing zines since first discovering them upon moving to Chicago in 2005. Her earliest zines were written under the monicker, THE BERNARD STREET COLLECTIVE and were mostly self published compilations of art and poetry. Later, she collaborated on several intimate zine projects such as CHURN which was about her close friend’s near fatal bicycle accident. These zines were self published at kinko’s and the public library in chicago, and sold at Chicago Comics and Quimby’s in Chicago. Her first instruction zine was a How-To guide on Wood Burning and was distributed through a DIY distro associated with 1980 records at Chicago Zine fest.
Since moving to Milwaukee in 2018, RMG has written & revised 7 zines, releasing them herself through her brand FAMILIAR, later settling on a new name for this distro since acquiring a letterpress in 2023;
LUSSI NIGHT PRESS.
Current zine titles:
The Cozy Milwaukee Almanac (2020)
Plain Living I (2013, Rev. 2024)
Plain living II (2024)
Broom and Craft : a beginners guide to broom lore (2020, rev. 2024)
Sauna Animism and Bathing Rituals from the North (2023)

Artist Books
Many of the artists books made by RMG have been lost to time. Her earliest artist books were made in undergraduate, un-documented and left for the passing stranger at book shops, libraries, bus stops across chicago. RMG taught a few weekend workshops in hollowed art book making at Fill in the Blank Gallery in Chicago circa 2010. These artists books often contained wax sculptures, collage, found objects, and drawings.
Sketchbooks
RMG has been keeping a near-daily sketchbook journal since 2005. These journals are filled with studies, travelogues, field notes, concepts, journal entries and ephemera from a creative life. In 2007, a selection of sketchbooks were shown at Carlson Tower Gallery at North Park University in Chicago. In 2020, her March sketchbook was submitted to The Sketchbook Project at The Brooklyn Art Library.
